CANDIS Group’s commitment to Green IT continues
In continuing to place importance on the well being of our global environment, the CANDIS Group continues to promote Thin Client networks as a cleaner and more efficient way of handling common office networks, workflow and storage tasks. A thin client (sometimes also called a lean or slim client) is a client interface computer in a client-server architecture network which depends primarily on the central server for processing tasks normally run directly on a user PC, and instead focuses on conveying input and output between the user and the remote server.
The CANDIS Group has recently architected, designed and implemented the largest of its Thin Client Networks to date for a company in the Gas exploration and drilling industry. This installation has effectively cut the electricity bill related to IT by 72.27% for the company, and that is not counting indirect costs like reductions in heat overhead, etc. By thinking outside the box, the company has reduced their Carbon Footprint, consistent with global needs for a greener business approach to planning and investments.
Thin Client Networks have been a focus of the CANDIS Group for over one year and have already proven cost effective for the clients. Additionally, this concept of a cleaner environment is consistent with policies in China where even in the Coal Industry, China is out-pacing the rest of the world in its efforts for cleaner forms of existing and new energy sources, according to a recent New York Times article.
